The Real Value of Independent Advice in 2025

There’s been a lot of talk lately about the cost of advice, hidden fees, and the rise of “DIY” investing. But what often gets lost is the value of truly independent financial advice.

Being independent means I’m not tied to any one provider or product range. Instead, I can recommend what’s genuinely right for each client — whether that’s a fund, pension, protection plan, or something completely different.

It also means transparency. My clients understand how I’m paid, what they’re getting, and why a recommendation is made. There’s no “sales target,” just proper advice.

Independence gives flexibility — the ability to adapt advice as life changes, or when markets and regulations shift. Whether you’re a business owner, professional, or retiree, that freedom can make a huge difference over time.

As a Chartered Financial Planner and Independent Financial Adviser in Reigate, Surrey, I take pride in working with people and families who value trust and clarity. For me, independence isn’t just a label — it’s how advice should be given.

If you’d like to explore how independent advice could make a difference to your planning, I’m always happy to have a conversation.
